POSITIONS VACANT

A number of volunteer positions will become available this close season, most important of which is that of Club Secretary. After two seasons in the post Glynn Thomas has decided to resign and this now creates a vacancy that needs to be filled quickly, as the position is most busy during the close season.

The secretary is supported by the Club committee and positions may well be vacant on this committee, interested candidates should make themselves known to the current committee before the Club AGM - due late May.

The club can not operate without these positions being filled and the volunteers acting to take the club forward. All parents considering this should be aware that without an active and enthusiastic committee the Club will fold.

Applicants to all roles within the club should be or prepared to be assessed for CRB approval.

March Meeting Details

This months meeting will be on Monday the 8th. 7.30pm start at the Dearnseman. All are welcome.

Sheffield & Hallamshire Fixture Back Log Update

Please see below the latest policy changes from the Sheffield & Hallamshire CFA. The changes should hopefully help a number of our teams to complete this seasons fixtures before the end date of 25th April:

---Important News Regarding Midweek Fixtures ---

The Sheffield & Hallamshire CFA Board of Directors yesterday (Thursday) considered correspondence from several youth teams and leagues regarding midweek fixtures.

After considering all the correspondence and following a comprehensive discussion it was decided:
Teams which are sanctioned by the Association to play on Saturdays should play midweek fixtures on Monday or Wednesday, as is the current custom and practise.

Teams which are sanctioned by the Association to play on Sundays should play midweek fixtures on Tuesday or Thursday, as is the current custom and practise.

Teams involving players within the age groups U7 to U16 are exempt from this regulation subject to the following:
-Teams sanctioned to play on Sundays should not play on Saturday.
-Teams sanctioned to play on Saturdays should not play on Sunday.
This means that for our League:

- Mini-Soccer teams can now play on any day of the week.
- Under 11s to Under 16s can play on any day EXCEPT FOR SATURDAY'S.

When arranging fixtures, managers must consider the welfare of players. I.e it is not good practice to arrange a lot of games in a short period of time. Teams must wait 24 hours before playing the next fixture, i.e you can play at 10am on Saturday and 10am on Sunday but for example you cannot play 10am on Saturday and 9am on Sunday as 24 has not passed.
With this flexibility shown by the County FA, all teams should now be in a position to complete the League season.

The League would like to thank the Sheffield & Hallamshire CFA Board of directors for making this change in policy which will help all clubs.

If clubs are now wanting to change a midweek date to a Monday, Wednesday or Friday please let your age-group registrar know.

Presentation Evenings 2009/2010 Season

The extension to the 2009/2010 season and subsequent re-arrangement of cup fixtures for a number of our teams, as well as concerns over the suitability of last year’s venue, has made it difficult to finalise dates and a location that suits all our teams for this year’s presentation evenings.

Following February’s club meeting, where several options were discussed at length, it was decided by unanimous vote that teams would arrange their own presentation evenings. This will hopefully give teams the flexibility to arrange the evenings around the completion of their own season.
All trophies will be bought and supplied by the club with each team receiving a contribution towards the cost of your chosen venue.
Could all mangers please send a full list of players to me This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as possible so that I can start to organise trophies and keep me informed of dates for your evenings so that individual awards and delivery of trophies can be arranged.

Wath Comp training

Please see below details of an e-mail i have had sent from BLCL who manage the STP facility at Wath Comp.

Due to incidents of littering, and damage to fencing, I have been asked to remind all user groups of Wath Synthetic Pitch of the following rules:

· All users must have the correct footwear: astro-trainers and moulded studs are permitted; metal studs, plastic studs and blades are not allowed

· Spectators should not be allowed onto the pitch itself.

· Only equipment appropriate to the agreed activity is allowed. Chairs, other furniture, bikes, etc are not allowed inside the fenced-off STP area.

· All users are expected to abide by the decision of the STP Supervisor/Caretaker. You must comply with any reasonable request or instructions from this person.

· The Hirer is responsible for the actions and behaviour of any spectators which come onto the Premises.

· Smoking is not allowed in the STP area.

· No climbing on fencing or equipment.

Can you please pass this message on to other members of your team and individual managers within your club.

WILL ALL MANAGERS PLEASE ENSURE FULL COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES. TEAMS FAILING TO CONTROL THEIR CHILDREN OR PARENTS WILL NOT BE BOOKED ONTO THE FACILITY IN THE FUTURE.

John Welsh - on behalf of the Committee.
